Rotary San Jose East/Evergreen club President Charlie Wasser will be discussing what it takes to locate and recruit new Rotarians. The questions rto be answered are (1) From where do Rotarians come? (2) What is the best way to recruit them? (3) Why do we want to grow a Rotary club? Charlie has been a Rotarian since 2004. Mr. Robert Yabes is a Department of Justice fully accredited representative and the Program Director of Catholic Charities Immigration Legal Services. He holds a master’s degree in Philosophy, and has received numerous training on immigration law, immigration program management, and immigrant leadership. Before taking the role as program director, he has represented hundreds of clients before the US Citizenship and Immigration Service and the Executive Office for Immigration Review. His nonprofit experience in immigration legal services covers more than 20 years. He does program planning, and works collaboratively with immigration legal services and other community-based organization on issues facing immigrants. |

Coach Shaw, comes from a great family with two great parents father was a police officer for over 23 years, mother work for NASA for 10 years. A graduate of San Jose College majored in communication with a minor in business. He has been involved in Youth Sports since 1976 in the San Jose California area. Married for 28 years with 5 kids one set of twins graduating from high school this year from S.T. High School in San Jose. His daughter is going to University of Arizona, and his son is going to the College of Grand Canyon University, his oldest son has graduated from college last year with a degree in Computer Graphics Have been voted High School Coach of the Year, CYO coach of the year voted 2005 All-Star coach for the San Jose Evergreen Valley Chapter NJB, received awards from the state of Texas, given the key to the state of Texas, voted coach of the Youth Athletic program in the state of Texas. Coach will talk about youth sports, youth academics, youth lives socially with respect to community involvement. |

Maniphone S. Dickerson is the Interim Dean of Business and Workforce Development Division at Evergreen Valley College (EVC). Dean Dickerson received her B.A. in Sociology from Quinnipiac University, her M.B.A. from Southern Connecticut State University, and her Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Adult and Career Workforce Education from University of South Florida. Prior to joining EVC, Dr. Dickerson was at San Jose City College, University of South Florida, Florida International University, and Southern Connecticut State University. She held several administrative positions related to course scheduling, program analysis, grant management, fiscal compliance; and academic positions as instructor and teaching assistant. She has implemented partnerships with local and regional partners to promote science, engineering, math, and technology (STEM) and career technical education (CTE) for women and underrepresented populations. Dean Dickerson is currently the elected Associate Regional Vice President for California's Community Colleges' Association of Occupational Educators (CCCAOE). She was a recipient of the Doctoral Fellowship for Migrant Education, Doctoral Fellowship for Anchin Education Center and Research, and several doctoral scholarship awards. She was the East Lyme High School’s Rotary Social Science scholarship recipient and the Girl State Leadership Award recipient. Dr. Dickerson has publish and present at conferences about CTE, women in non-traditional occupations, mentoring, and STEM occupations |

Through Tuyen's leadership, FACES has doubled the number of students served to over 2600 annually and incorporated Restorative Practice into school communities to have a bigger impact on equitable opportunities for student success. Tuyen’s career has encompassed various industries including government, technology, insurance and healthcare. As a refugee and victim of racial violence and sexual assault, Tuyen brings empathy, compassion, understanding and empowerment to the community that she serves. |
