Vietnam Project.

Emily Vuong (she/her) serves as an International Outreach for Rotary Vietnam Project. She is a senior at Andrew Hill High School from San Jose is from Area 8 of the Southern Division. As a person who was raised by parents who placed her education as a priority, knowing how there are people who do not have the same privilege as her, motivated her to try to do something. She joined RVP to learn and make an impact to help raise awareness about human trafficking and to help girls who are at risk of it. She wants to make an impact by being able to participate in giving something that her parents were able to give her, education for the security of the future. |

The Rotary Clubs of District 5170 sponsor the Richard D. King Annual Youth Speech contest each year. This year the club level contest organized by the Rotary Club of San Jose East Evergreen will be held on Thursday Feb 18th from 12:00-1:30pm. The contest will be conducted virtually via Zoom. The goals of the contest are -
* Increase public knowledge of what Rotary is and does throughout the world, especially among young people
* Increase personal knowledge and the importance of being able to speak effectively before a group
* Provide all high school contestants an opportunity to win cash prizes |
