Fresh Lifelines for Youth

Ms. Katie has dedicated her career to pursuing social justice. After graduating with a BA in
History and Political Science from UC- San Diego, she then earned her law degree from
The University of Washington with the goal of providing legal services to under-served
communities. While working as a legal writer in the Bay Area, Katie began volunteering
with the Law Program at Fresh Lifelines for Youth, also known as FLY. In 2013, she became
the Volunteer Coordinator for FLY’s Mentor Program, recruiting and training volunteers to
mentor youth on probation. Katie became the Director of Grants Management at FLY in
2015 and was made Director of Community Resources in 2018. She also volunteers for FLY
as a CAFA Mentor and Law Program facilitator. A Bay Area native, she grew up in Los Gatos,
and she and her partner now live in the Willow Glen neighborhood of San Jose.
