Members from Six Interact Clubs Joined our Feb 21, 2019 Meeting
15 Interactors, representing our six sponsored Interact Clubs as well as Interact District 5170 visited our club meeting on Feb 21, 2019.
Many of the 12 Interactors who had just completed attending PWR (President's Winter Retreat) were among those who shared their club's goals and accomplishments.
Our club was able fund $960 which was half of the fee for each of the 12 PWR attendees. It's a worthy investment in the future leaders of Interact.
We were also joined by our South Korean Youth Exchange Student Kyungmin Min who is attending Lincoln High School. He reports that,
since English is a second language, the classes are challenging and his favorite one is PE where he most enjoys playing soccer!
It was great that he got to be with so many other students his age and to learn about Interact.
"There is nothing to dislike about La Perla. It is a family owned and operated Mexican restaurant with authentic Mexican food. Jose and Anna, the owners, take great pride in the food, service and experience of their customers which shows in every bite you eat. Their Mole is the best I have found anywhere, and I get it on almost everything - just not the salads.
If you are in the mood for reasonably priced yet excellent Mexican food, stop by La Perla Taqueria. You won't be disappointed."
2019-20 Rotary International President Mark Daniel Maloney is urging leaders to grow Rotary by creating new Rotary and Rotaract clubs that take advantage of innovative membership models.
In his speech to incoming leaders at the annual training event in San Diego, California, USA, Monday, Maloney said βThe first emphasis is to grow Rotary β to grow our service, to grow the impact of our projects, but most importantly, to grow our membership so that we can achieve more."
During the 2016 Council on Legislation, delegates voted to give Rotary clubs more freedom to decide when, where, and how they meet and the types of membership they offer. Clubs that have taken advantage of the new club flexibility options have reported increased membership; greater diversity in age, professions, and experience; and more engaged members.
