Hope for Hans

Since 1997, Michelle has been instrumental in developing programs designed to assist single parents, low-income families, and senior citizens in the Bay Area with food, clothing and holiday meals. She also leads teams of volunteers in visiting the homeless along the creeks to distribute food, clothing and personal hygiene items. In December 2011, she accepted a commendation by the City of San Jose in recognition “for support of the community and continually making an impact in the City of San Jose. “It was also in 1997 that Michelle made her first trip to India, which became an annual occurrence while she worked on feeding the orphans and building a girls’ home, which opened in 2008. For the past several years, she has taken food and clothing to the dumps and leper colonies in Hyderabad. In 2011, Michelle began micro-financing programs in now fifteen different leper colonies. General stores, goat farms and sewing shops have been started. Other projects include sponsoring children in orphanages and digging wells to provide clean water. Michelle has founded a non-profit organization called Hope for Hansen’s Just for those affected by the disease.

She is currently writing her first book titled: The Untouchables.
